10 Under 10 Awards

From Washington D.C. to the deep sea—2024 recipients are working to change the world.

The URI Young Alumni Council in partnership with the University of Rhode Island Foundation & Alumni Engagement (URIFAE) hosted the annual 10 Under 10 Awards this spring, honoring graduates from the classes of 2014 through 2023 for outstanding professional achievement and dedication to the URI community.

The 2024 recipients included Michael Camal ’18, Craig Snow ’14, Akos Antwi ’14, Stephen Siravo ’13, Callie Veelenturf ’14, Shawn Antoine II ’19, Cara Nunez ’16, Matthew Talbot, Pharm.D. ’14, Kelsea Adams ’16, M.A. ’17, and Lucy Moyes ’18, M.B.A. ’20. Each academic college, the athletics department, and the office of the provost chose one individual to honor.

Surrounded by fellow alumni, family, and friends, the recipients were publicly recognized during halftime at the URI Men’s Basketball game on March 2. They united at half-court along with URI President Marc Parlange, URIFAE President Lil O’Rourke, Provost Barbara Wolfe, Vice President for Alumni Relations Michele Nota, and of course, Rhody the Ram. During the formal awards ceremony at the Alumni Center, University leaders praised the awardees for their accomplishments and expressed gratitude for the ways that they represent URI beyond campus.

“There’s many things we’re proud of, but certainly the thing that we are most proud of is our people,” said URI President Marc Parlange during Saturday’s ceremony.

URIFAE launched the 10 Under 10 Awards in 2018. Along with personal achievements, all recipients demonstrate the University’s core values of creativity and scholarship; diversity, fairness, and respect; engaged learning and civic involvement; and intellectual and ethical leadership.
