Alumni Career Services

As University of Rhode Island alumni, you have access to a wide variety of complimentary career resources and services, no matter where you live. The URI Alumni Association is proud to provide you with assistance from our career advisor, as well as complimentary use of RhodyNet, the URI online career management system.

Fast Five Resume Review: February 27 – March 5

The March Career Fair will be on WednesdayMarch 8, 2017 from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.  This event is free for alumni to attend. (See a list of employers attending by clicking the event info on the Center for Career and Experiential Education page.) In preparation for the upcoming March Career Fair, Alumni Career Advisors are offering a Fast Five. Email us your resume between February 27– March 5, and we will respond with five tips to strengthen your resume.   

Fast Five instructions: Resumes should be sent via email with the subject line: Fast Five. Your resume should be in Word or PDF format. For the fastest response, send your resume to Audra (audraryan@uri.edu) on Monday–Thursday, or to Karen (krubano@uri.edu) Friday–Sunday.

Get Started on RhodyNet!

In order to use RhodyNet, all URI alumni must create an account. The system was recently upgraded, so even if you've accessed your account in the past, you'll still need to create a new login and password. You can access RhodyNet here. From the home page, click on the Register button at the bottom of the Alumni column to create an account. Please use your preferred email address as your login.

RhodyNet is an online software system licensed to URI for the exclusive use of our students and alumni seeking internships and career opportunities, and employers wishing to hire them.

Students and alumni using RhodyNet benefit from:

  • Searchable live database of volunteer, internship, and job postings from local, regional, national and international employers
  • Register for Feinstein Experience and URI 101 Civic Engagement
  • Searchable database of on-campus interviews
  • Searchable database of career events
  • Access to additional national databases and information resources
  • Management of multiple resumes
  • Over 2,000 employer contacts

Range of Services

  • Career counseling, either on the Kingston Campus or by phone and email
  • Resume and cover letter review; networking strategies; job search assistance; practice interviews
  • Online services including webinars; access to RhodyNet; information about career fairs and other events; career assessment tools

In addition, the URI Alumni Association offers member discounts on Kaplan prep courses (SAT, LSAT, MCAT, GMAT, GRE and more), and the URI Feinstein Providence Campus offers certificate and non-credit programs.

Career Services Webinars: Ideas and Experts Wanted!

If there's a particular topic that you would like to see addressed in future webinars, please send your ideas to Karen Rubano. Interested in presenting a career-related webinar? Consideration for inclusion to our webinar series is based on topic relevance, industry trends, and expertise. Please send your proposal for a 35-minute webinar (include a description of your target audience and a list of the benefits of the presentation to that audience), along with a brief bio that includes your expertise and any previous webinar experience to Karen Rubano. Our webinar committee will review your submission and contact you directly.
